Following the report that we submitted to the Welsh Affairs Committee last December, we have been asked to go to the Houses of Parliament to give oral evidence to the committee to allow them more insight into the problems that our injured and veterans are finding when they return home.
This is hopefully a golden opportunity to get the MP'S some real understanding of the challenges our lads face when they have been medically discharged from the armed forces and have to face a complete change of life, career and health problems let alone dealing with civilians who have had no connection with the military and unfortunately little understanding of their injuries whether they be physical or pyschological.
I hope this will lead to some actual practical changes that will benefit the lads and not just another quango passing alot of hot air!!! I shall do my very best to get some positive results. Also I believe that the families of those killed or injured also need alot more support, as we have found that they are quite often the last to get information such as where to get help and often left out of communication loops. I will pass on any news I have as soon as I can so watch this space!
